SUMMARY:Defensive Handgun II (CCW Permit/PPOH) 2-Day
DESCRIPTION:The Defensive Handgun II class often meets the requirements for
  obtaining a Carry Concealed Weapons CCW permit in many CA jurisdictions\,
  as well as in number of other states. Through a combination of classroom 
 and range training over two days\, we will cover the knowledge and skills 
 required to carry a firearm for personal protection outside the home.\n\nW
 e follow the NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home Course. Upon complet
 ing the class\, you will receive a certificate from 29 Outdoor Gear\, an F
 FL and approved trainer for Napa and Solano.  Threat Scenarios is the aff
 iliate training organization of 29 Outdoor Gear with the same management.\
 n\nDay 1 (8-Hours Classroom):\n\n*Learn ethical responsibility\, defensive
  mindset/awareness\, and how to avoid\, respond to and control an encounte
 r.\n*Discuss legal considerations including proportionate use of force\, C
 CW insurance\, and the aftermath of a shooting.\n*Prepare a plan including
  firearm/holster selection\, and good habits such as scanning and assessin
 g the environment.\n\nDay 2 (8-Hours Range):\n\n*Improve draw\, accuracy\,
  speed shooting\, and target acquisition skills (including point shooting)
 .\n*Move to\, use\, and shoot from behind cover.\n*Practice response drill
 s (left\, right\, rear)\, and retention shots.\n\nThe Defensive Handgun se
 ries is designed to take students from static line shooting into applying 
 their skills in a real world environment.  Through the supervision of our
  instructors\, you will learn how to fight back with a firearm while under
  stress.\n\nPrerequisites:\n\nIdeally\, the student would have a working k
 nowledge of handguns and some experience. However\, due to the high instru
 ctor-to-student ratio and small class size\, we often are able to adapt to
  those with little or no experience.\n\nWhat to Bring:\n\nGear: Ear protec
 tion/eye protection (wrap around glasses or glasses with some form of side
  protection preferred). Bring athletic shoes\, boots\, or cleats. It's an 
 outdoor range so check the weather and dress accordingly. We run rain or s
 hine.\n\nFirearm: Reliable semi-automatic handgun or revolver with three o
 r more magazines (speed loaders). Bring a holster\, and at least two magaz
 ine pouches. Holsters must be worn on the hip or thigh on the strong side.
 \n\nAmmo: At least 350 rounds.  Additionally\, you will need 50 rounds p
 er handgun for the qualification test. Some people shoot / reload faster t
 han others. How much ammunition you want to use is up to you.\n\nPersonal:
  Bring your own lunch (there will be a 45 minute break). We are short driv
 ing distance from several restaurants. Snacks and water will be provided.\
 n\nFor those that want to take the class (or range day portion)\, without 
 applying for a CCW rental firearm packages are available. Each package con
 tains a modern\, reliable handgun such as a Glock\, three magazines\, elec
 tronic ear protection\, safety glasses\, speed loader\, and 300 rounds of 
 free ammunition. The rental package is $95 for the day. If you would like

 r you receive after booking the class.\n\nFor permit renewals and range-da
 y only practice days contact us here.\n\nWhere to Go:\n\nWe will be using 
 the Hillside Private Property\, which is located a short drive from centra
 l American Canyon. It is not open to the public\, and its exact location w
 ill only be disclosed to students of the class.  We will start at 9am sha
 rp and continue to around 5pm. Please try to arrive 15 minutes before the
