SUMMARY:Defensive Handgun ll (CCW Permit/PPOH) 2-Day
DESCRIPTION:The Defensive Handgun ll class often meets the requirements for
  obtaining a Carry Concealed Weapons CCW permit in many CA jurisdictions\,
  as well as in number of other states. Through a combination of classroom 
 and range training over two days\, we will cover the knowledge and skills 
 required to carry a firearm for personal protection outside the home.\n\nW
 e follow the NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home Course. Upon complet
 ing the class\, you will receive a certificate from 29 Outdoor Gear\, an F
 FL and approved trainer for Napa\, Solano\, and Sonoma County Sheriff's De
 partments\, and City of Napa Police Department. Several other law enforcem
 ent agencies recognize our CCW training as well. Threat Scenarios is the a
 ffiliate training organization of 29 Outdoor Gear with the same management
 . Through a partnership with Down Range Logistics\, our CCW training is al
 so recognized by both the Sacramento and El Dorado County Sheriff's Depart
 ments.\n\nDay 1 (8-Hours Classroom):\n\n*Learn ethical responsibility\, de
 fensive mindset/awareness\, and how to avoid\, respond to and control an e
 ncounter.\n*Discuss legal considerations including proportionate use of fo
 rce\, CCW insurance\, and the aftermath of a shooting.\n*Prepare a plan in
 cluding firearm/holster selection\, and good habits such as scanning and a
 ssessing the environment.\n\nDay 2 (8-Hours Range):\n\n*Improve draw\, acc
 uracy\, speed shooting\, and target acquisition skills (including point sh
 ooting).\n*Move to\, use\, and shoot from behind cover.\n*Practice respons
 e drills (left\, right\, rear)\, and retention shots.\n\nThe Defensive Han
 dgun series is designed to take students from static line shooting into ap
 plying their skills in a real world environment.  Through the supervision
  of our instructors\, you will learn how to fight back with a firearm whil
 e under stress.\n\nPrerequisites:\n\nIdeally\, the student would have a wo
 rking knowledge of handguns and some experience. However\, due to the high
  instructor-to-student ratio and small class size\, we often are able to a
 dapt to those with little or no experience.\n\nWhat to Bring:\n\nGear: Ear
  protection/eye protection (wrap around glasses or glasses with some form 
 of side protection preferred). Bring athletic shoes\, boots\, or cleats. I
 t's an outdoor range so check the weather and dress accordingly. We run ra
 in or shine.\n\nFirearm: Reliable semi-automatic handgun or revolver with 
 three or more magazines (speed loaders). Bring a holster\, and at least tw
 o magazine pouches. Holsters must be worn on the hip or thigh on the stron
 g side.\n\nAmmo: At least 350 rounds.  Additionally\, you will need 50 r
 ounds per handgun for the qualification test. Some people shoot / reload f
 aster than others. How much ammunition you want to use is up to you.\n\nPe
 rsonal: Bring your own lunch (there will be a 45 minute break). We are sho
 rt driving distance from several restaurants. Snacks and water will be pro
 vided.\n\nFor those that want to take the class (or range day portion)\, w
 ithout applying for a CCW rental firearm packages are available. Each pack
 age contains a modern\, reliable handgun such as a Glock\, three magazines
 \, electronic ear protection\, safety glasses\, and speed loader. The rent
 al package is $95 for the day. If you would like to reserve a rental packa

 ct us here.\n\nWhere to Go:\n\nWe will be using the Hillside Private Prope
 rty\, which is located a short drive from central American Canyon. It is n
 ot open to the public\, and its exact location will only be disclosed to s
 tudents of the class.  We will start at 9am sharp and continue to around 
 5pm. Please try to arrive 15 minutes before the class starts.\n\nFor addit
