SUMMARY:Defensive Handgun II (CCW Permit/PPOH) 2-Day
DESCRIPTION:The Defensive Handgun II class often meets the requirements for
  obtaining a Carry Concealed Weapons CCW permit in many CA jurisdictions\,
  as well as in number of other states. Through a combination of classroom 
 and range training over two days\, we will cover the knowledge and skills 
 required to carry a firearm for personal protection outside the home.\nWe 
 follow the NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home Course. Upon completin
 g the class\, you will receive a certificate from 29 Outdoor Gear\, an FFL
  and approved trainer for Napa and Solano.  Threat Scenarios is the affil
 iate training organization of 29 Outdoor Gear with the same management.\n\
 nDay 1 (8-Hours Classroom):\n\n*Learn ethical responsibility\, defensive m
 indset/awareness\, and how to avoid\, respond to and control an encounter.
 \n*Discuss legal considerations including proportionate use of force\, CCW
  insurance\, and the aftermath of a shooting.\n*Prepare a plan including f
 irearm/holster selection\, and good habits such as scanning and assessing 
 the environment.\n\nDay 2 (8-Hours Range):\n\n*Improve draw\, accuracy\, s
 peed shooting\, and target acquisition skills (including point shooting).\
 n*Move to\, use\, and shoot from behind cover.\n*Practice response drills 
 (left\, right\, rear)\, and retention shots.\n\nThe Defensive Handgun seri
 es is designed to take students from static line shooting into applying th
 eir skills in a real world environment.  Through the supervision of our i
 nstructors\, you will learn how to fight back with a firearm while under s
 tress.\n\nPrerequisites:\n\nIdeally\, the student would have a working kno
 wledge of handguns and some experience. However\, due to the high instruct
 or-to-student ratio and small class size\, we often are able to adapt to t
 hose with little or no experience.\n\nWhat to Bring:\n\nGear: Ear protecti
 on/eye protection (wrap around glasses or glasses with some form of side p
 rotection preferred). Bring athletic shoes\, boots\, or cleats. It's an ou
 tdoor range so check the weather and dress accordingly. We run rain or shi
 ne.\n\nFirearm: Reliable semi-automatic handgun or revolver with three or 
 more magazines (speed loaders). Bring a holster\, and at least two magazin
 e pouches. Holsters must be worn on the hip or thigh on the strong side.\n
 \nAmmo: At least 350 rounds.  Additionally\, you will need 50 rounds per
  handgun for the qualification test. Some people shoot / reload faster tha
 n others. How much ammunition you want to use is up to you.\n\nPersonal: B
 ring your own lunch (there will be a 45 minute break). We are short drivin
 g distance from several restaurants. Snacks and water will be provided.\n\
 nFor those that want to take the class (or range day portion)\, without ap
 plying for a CCW rental firearm packages are available. Each package conta
 ins a modern\, reliable handgun such as a Glock\, three magazines\, electr
 onic ear protection\, safety glasses\, speed loader\, and 300 rounds of fr
 ee ammunition. The rental package is $120 for the day. If you would like t

 you receive after booking the class.\n\nFor permit renewals and range-day 
 only practice days contact us here.\n\nWhere to Go:\n\nWe will be using th
 e Hillside Private Property\, which is located a short drive from central 
 American Canyon. It is not open to the public\, and its exact location wil
 l only be disclosed to students of the class.  We will start at 9am sharp
  and continue to around 5pm. Please try to arrive 15 minutes before the cl
