 NTS ONLY
DESCRIPTION:The Defensive Handgun II class often meets the requirements for
renewing a Carry Concealed Weapon (CCW) permit in many CA jurisdictions.
Through a combination of classroom and range training over the state-manda
ted 8 hours\, we will cover the knowledge and skills required to carry a f
irearm for personal protection outside the home\, in compliance with Calif
ornia law. \n\nWe follow the NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home (PP
OH) Course. Upon completing the class\, you will receive a certificate fro
m 29 Outdoor Gear\, a full-service FFL gun store and approved training pro
vider for Napa\, Solano\, Sonoma County\, Contra Costa\, and Santa Clara
  Sheriff's Departments\, and City of Napa\, Central Marin\, Town of Ross\,
City of Winters\, Martinez\, and San Francisco  Police Departments*. Sev
eral other law enforcement agencies recognize our CCW training as well\, s
uch as the Sacramento\, Yolo\, Sheriff's Departments and Sunnyvale Departm
ent of Public Safety*. Ask the agency you are applying to if our training
course will meet their requirements. Our instructors are\, at minimum\, NR
A Certified\, and many hold multiple credentials such as DOJ\, BSIS\, POST
\, and USCCA. Threat Scenarios is the training division of 29 Outdoor Gear
.\n*List of approved agencies subject to change - check with your issuing

to take students from static line shooting into applying their skills in a
real world environment.  Through the supervision of our instructors\, yo
u will learn how to fight back with a firearm while under stress.\n\n\nPre
requisites:\n\nA valid California CCW permit. Ideally\, the student should
have a working knowledge of handguns\, their safe handling\, and some exp
erience. However\, due to the high instructor-to-student ratio and small c
lass size\, we often are able to adapt to those with little or no experien
ce. Students who do not demonstrate an adequate level of safety or compreh
ension of the class material may be invited to return to a later class aft
er completing some additional training.\n\nWhat to Bring:\n\nGear: Ear pro
tection (electronic is preferred)\, eye protection (wrap around glasses or
glasses with some form of side protection preferred)\; athletic shoes\, b
oots\, or cleats.\nWe shoot outdoors so check the weather and dress accord
ingly. Class will proceed rain or shine\, unless the conditions become uns
afe.\n\nFirearm: Reliable semi-automatic handgun or revolver with three or
more magazines (or speed loaders\, for revolvers). \n\nHolster: A rigid O
UTSIDE THE WAISTBAND holster that does not collapse when the firearm is re
moved\, and at least two magazine or speed loader pouches. Holsters must b
e worn on the hip or thigh on the strong side\; and magazine holders must
be worn on the belt. Serpa-type holsters with a release button that must b
e activated by the user's trigger finger are not allowed. "Universal"-type
holsters that are not specific to the firearm are not allowed. \n\nAmmo:
At least 500 rounds for the various drills we fire during class.  You wi
ll need 100 rounds per handgun for the qualification test\; you must shoot
and qualify with each gun you want listed on your permit\, and you're all
owed to shoot it twice per gun for a passing score (the qualification cour
se of fire is 50 rounds). The remaining balance of the rounds will be used
for the various drills we shoot throughout class\, to assess the student'
 s safety\, competency\, gun handling\, and marksmanship. \n\n&nbsp\;\n\nS
ome issuing agencies allow upwards of 6 guns on one permit. Due to time co
nstraints\, everyone will be allowed the opportunity to attempt to qualify
with at least three guns. If an individual desires to qualify with more t
han 3 guns and we are not able to accommodate the additional qualification
attempts during the class\, other arrangements will need to be made.\n\n*
*Additional range sessions to attempt to qualify may incur additional fees
.**\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nPersonal: Bring your own lunch on both days (there will
be a 30 minute break). There is not enough time to leave and return. Cold

weeks prior to class with many details - keep an eye on our inbox for this
message. It is suggested you add the domain threatscenarios.com to your '
safe senders' or 'white' list so the email does not go to your junk or spa
m folder. \nWe will start at 9am sharp and continue to around 5pm. Please
arrive 15 minutes before the class starts to complete paperwork and safet
y inspection of your equipment.\n\nFor additional questions about our CCW

 iling.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nCLASS COST:\n$250.00\n\n\n&nbsp\;
