SUMMARY:Defensive Handgun II (CCW Permit/PPOH) 2-Day
DESCRIPTION:The Defensive Handgun II class often meets the requirements for
  obtaining a Carry Concealed Weapons CCW permit in many CA jurisdictions\,
  as well as in number of other states. Through a combination of classroom 
 and range training over two days\, we will cover the knowledge and skills 
 required to carry a firearm for personal protection outside the home.\n\nD
 ay 1 (8-Hours Classroom):\n\n*Learn ethical responsibility\, defensive min
 dset/awareness\, and how to avoid\, respond to and control an encounter.\n
 *Discuss legal considerations including proportionate use of force\, CCW i
 nsurance\, and the aftermath of a shooting.\n*Prepare a plan including fir
 earm/holster selection\, and good habits such as scanning and assessing th
 e environment.\n\nDay 2 (8-Hours Range):\n\n*Improve draw\, accuracy\, spe
 ed shooting\, and target acquisition skills (including point shooting).\n*
 Move to\, use\, and shoot from behind cover.\n*Practice response drills (l
 eft\, right\, rear)\, and retention shots.\n\nThe Defensive Handgun series
  is designed to take students from static line shooting into applying thei
 r skills in a real world environment.  Through the supervision of our ins
 tructors\, you will learn how to fight back with a firearm while under str
 ess.\n\nPrerequisites:\n\nAbility to safely manipulate a handgun under str
 ess.\nAbility to consistently shoot a 8″ group at 10 yards with one shot
  every 2 seconds.\nAbility to safely and healthfully navigate a live fire 
 course under stress.\n\nWhat to Bring:\n\nGear: Ear protection/eye protect
 ion (wrap around glasses or glasses with some form of side protection pref
 erred). Bring athletic shoes\, boots\, or cleats. It's an outdoor range so
  check the weather and dress accordingly. We run rain or shine.\n\nFirearm
 : Reliable semi-automatic handgun or revolver with three or more magazines
  (speed loaders). Bring a holster\, and at least two magazine pouches. Hol
 sters must be worn on the hip or thigh on the strong side.\n\nAmmo: At lea
 st 350 rounds.\n\nPersonal: Bring your own lunch (there will be a 45 minut
 e break). We are short driving distance from several restaurants. Snacks a
 nd water will be provided.\n\nWhere to Go:\n\nWe will be using the Hillsid
 e Private Property\, which is located a short drive from central American 
 Canyon. It is not open to the public\, and its exact location will only be
  disclosed to students of the class.  We will start at 9am sharp and cont
 inue to around 5pm. Please try to arrive 15 minutes before the class start
