Special Mother's Day treats fo r Mom will be on hand\, and each Mom will receive a small gift.\n\nWhen re gistering\, list BOTH participants names on the 'Name' line.\n*Youth is an yone under 18. There is no minimum age limit\, however we recommend the ch ild be able to follow directions and pay attention for 45 to 60 minutes at a time.\n\nMust register and pay together in order to obtain the special discount\,\nor Mom must already be registered if additional child is regis tering on single ticket.\n\n \;\n\nThe Combined First Steps and Basic Pistol class is designed for students who are complete beginners to the pr inciples of safely handling\, maintaining\, and firing a handgun\, or thos e who want a refresher. Over the course of an eight hour day\, our friendl y instructors will combine classroom and range time to establish good habi ts and proper fundamentals such as:\n\n*Range and home safety rules.\n*Pro per procedure for loading/unloading\, cleaning\, storage\, and transportat ion of a firearm/ammunition.\n*Basics of sight alignment\, as well as grip \, stance\, breathing\, and trigger control.\n*Refinement of accuracy\, an d how to self-improve when shooting groups at various distances.\n*Alterna tive firing positions.\n*Rapid fire for those who are ready.\n\nThis progr am has at its core a time-tested NRA certified curriculum\, and will serve to establish a solid groundwork of technique and knowledge for new or pro spective handgun owners.\n\nPrerequisites:\n\nAll students must be legally able to possess a firearm in the State of California.\n\n\nWhat to Bring: \n\nGear: Ear protection (plugs or muffs\, electronic ear protection is pr eferred)\, eye protection (wrap around glasses or glasses with some form o f side protection preferred). Athletic shoes. We use an outdoor facility s o check the weather and dress accordingly. We train rain or shine.  \n\n Firearm: Bring a reliable semi-automatic handgun or revolver and at least 200 rounds of ammunition.  \n\nRental firearm packages are available. Eac h package contains a modern\, reliable handgun such as a Glock\, most of w hich are 9mm caliber\; three magazines\; electronic ear protection\; safet y glasses\; and a speed loader. Ammo is NOT included in our standard renta l kits. The rental package is $45 for the day. We do have rental kits that include ammo - these are .22 caliber semi-auto handguns and include 200 r ounds of .22 ammo.\nIf you would like to reserve a rental package\, please select the appropriate handgun rental option below.\nDepending on supply\ , ammo may be available for students to purchase at class - price is depen dent upon current market value.\n\nOne of our staff members will provide m ore details about the class\, exact location\, and ammo\, in a confirmatio n email that will be sent approximately 1 week before the class date.\n\nP ersonal: Bring your own lunch (there will be a 45 minute break). We are sh ort driving distance from several restaurants. Snacks and water will be pr ovided.\n\nWhere to Go:\n\nWe will be using the Hillside Private Property\ , which is located a short drive from central American Canyon. It is not o pen to the public\, and its exact location will only be disclosed to stude nts of the class.  We will start at 9am sharp and continue to around 4pm. Please try to arrive 15 minutes before the class starts.\n\nStudents may retire before 4pm and are welcome to leave at any time.
