DESCRIPTION: Defensive Handgun 1 is the "Next Steps" in your training. Bui
 lding upon everything you learned in First Steps Basic Pistol. This class 
 is designed to get you Up to Speed with the Safe use of a Holster and Maga
 zine Pouch\, Handgun Fundamentals/ Precision Shooting\, Comfortable Moving
  and Shooting with a Handgun\, How to use Cover and Concealment\, Self Def
 ense Mind Set and Concepts while prepping you for real world scenarios.\n\
 nOver the course of four hours\, our friendly instructors will combine cla
 ssroom and range time to establish good habits and proper fundamentals suc
 h as:\n\n*Holster purpose\, selection\, consideration for method of carry 
 and materials available.\n*Proper procedure for loading and unloading\, ho
 lstering and unholstering\, storage\, and transportation of a firearm/ammu
 nition.\n*Malfunction drills\, to include alternative malfunction clearanc
 e and loading procedures\n*An introduction to cover and concealment\, and 
 the use thereof\n* Moving and shooting / Self Defense Concepts\n\nPrerequi
 sites:\n\nFirst Steps Basic Pistol Class\, CCW or Equivalent Class \n\nAl
 l students must be legally able to possess a firearm in the State of Calif
 ornia.\n\n\nWhat to Bring:   (handgun rental with all equipment needed f
 or class is available at checkout) \n\nGear: Ear protection (plugs or muf
 fs)\, eye protection (wrap around glasses or glasses with some form of sid
 e protection preferred). Athletic shoes. It's an outdoor range so check th
 e weather and dress accordingly. We run rain or shine.  \n\nFirearm: Bri
 ng a reliable semi-automatic handgun with at least 3 magazines or revolver
  and at least 200 rounds of ammunition. \n\nHolster and Magazine Pouch: A
  holster for your handgun and mag pouch is mandatory. They should be relia
 ble\, made of a solid common material\, in good working condition. An outs
 ide the waistband\, hard-sided holster that does not close on itself when 
 the gun is removed is preferred. \n\nOne of our staff members will provid
 e more details about the class\, exact location\, and ammo\, in a confirma
 tion email that will be sent approximately 1 week before the class date.\n
 \nPersonal: Bring your own lunch and any personally required items. .\n\nW
 here to Go:\n\nWe will be using the Hillside Private Property\, which is l
 ocated a short drive from central American Canyon. It is not open to the p
 ublic\, and its exact location will only be disclosed to students of the c
 lass.  We will start at 12:00pm sharp and continue to around 4 to 4:30pm.
