The Performance Handgun I class is a skills tuneup for beginner to intermediate level shooters who are looking to improve their ability to accurately and quickly hit targets. Students will go through a variety of drills to designed to evaluate and advance their technique. Over this full day course, you will:

*Test accuracy at distance and at close range with various target sizes.
*Refine proper grip, stance, and body positioning for target acquisition and rapid follow up shots.
*Develop speed by snap shooting to an index point.
*Hone skills like strong hand/weak hand shooting.

*Practice draws on targets at various distances.

The Performance Handgun series is designed to help students overcome training plateaus by understanding the ergonomics of gun-handling, and to progress by developing a strong technical foundation.  This is a sports-science class for shooters, and the material covered applies to anyone who uses a handgun for defense, recreation, or competition.

We leave tactics/stress inoculation for force on force training within our shoothouse. While we fully intend to challenge your limits and push them to the next level, we will not be shouting at you and making you roll around in the dirt.

NOTE:  For competition shooters, this class is recommended for those either USPSA D class or below. Students with a USPSA C class or above ranking should begin with Performance Handgun II.

Ability to safely manipulate a handgun under stress.
Ability to consistently shoot a 8″ group at 10 yards with one shot every 2 seconds.
