Novato Shoothouse
This six person private event will place you into various situations simulating potentially lethal encounters. You will engage in five or more different real-world scenarios which will involve you either carrying or having access to a handgun or rifle. These are not simply “shoot/no-shoot” exercises. Our dedicated roleplayers are not just living targets. They are characters, all of whom have different priorities and motivations. Some will run, some will fight, some will negotiate. All will react to you, including how you carry yourself and when and if you decide to draw and shoot. There are multiple paths to choose, and each choice will be discussed at length in a group setting with students and staff.
You will be provided with all equipment necessary for the class, including a UTM converted Glock 17 pistol & AR-15 rifle, an approved full cheek-weld UTM certified safety mask, helmet, groin protection, and gloves. Pizza lunch and water/snacks are also included (please inform us if you have any dietary restrictions).
This event will begin with a tactics primer, and will then delve into a combination of individual and team based scenarios. After every scenario, we will have a group debrief with your instructor.
The day will start at 9am sharp and continue to around 4pm. Please try to arrive 15 minutes before the class starts.

Prerequisites:
Legal ownership of a firearm in California.
Ability to safely operate a handgun/AR-15 style rifle and navigate a shoothouse course under stress.
What to Bring:
Long sleeve shirt & sweatshirt with collar. Long legged pants. Athletic shoes and long socks. Please do not “pad up” for this event, as being hit will give you realistic feedback.
We will provide all the necessary protective equipment (helmet, mask, groin protector, gloves, extra sweatshirts). You may bring your own gloves.
If you wear glasses, we recommend contact lenses as you will have a full face mask.
Balaclava will be issued to students per our COVID-19 protocols.
Please do not disclose the location of our facility, as it’s routinely used for law enforcement purposes. Also, no location tagging on photos is allowed.
If at any point you feel at all uncomfortable, or want the scenario to end or progress at a slower pace, simply inform your instructor. We make every effort to accommodate needs as they arise.
No weapons (live firearms, knives, batons, pepper spray, etc) or ammunition (including personal magazines) are allowed into the shoothouse at any time. Participants will be pat-down searched. If you have a CCW, please leave it at home for this event.
