Defensive Handgun 3 is designed for students who have an interest in learning defensive shooting fundamentals working on things like, Close Quarters Defense (CQD) & CCW Handgun Defense, Vehicle Dynamics (Self Defense from and around Vehicles), Home Defense Dynamics, Active Shooter Defense and shooting in different and varied situations and circumstances you might find yourself in every day life.
(This is not a beginner class)
Over this course you will learn things such as:
*Proper stances and grips for defensive shooting
*The concept of acceptable accuracy and target focused shooting techniques
*CCW defense against weapons and multiple attackers
*Handgun retention techniques and strikes
*Retention shooting and shooting on the move
Prerequisites:
Defensive Handgun 1 Next Steps Class with instructors approval, Defensive Handgun 2/CCW or Equivalent.
All students must be legally able to possess a firearm in the State of California.
Adequate understanding of firearms safety rules.
Ability to safely and comfortably manipulate your firearm while using a holster. (if you are not comfortable with this, please take Next Steps to get the proper training with holster before taking Defensive Handgun 3)
What to Bring:
Gear: Ear protection (plugs or muffs), eye protection (wrap around glasses or glasses with some form of side protection preferred). Athletic shoes. It’s an outdoor range so check the weather and dress accordingly. We run rain or shine.
Firearm: Bring a reliable semi-automatic handgun And Rifle and at least 300 rounds of ammunition Each.
A kydex-type, hard side, rigid holster and magazine pouches on a belt. It is highly suggested that each student bring the gear that they either carry or train with to get the most out of the class. * Serpa-type holsters are NOT allowed – if you have questions about this, please ask. *
